My guess is that since the blocks for Farmer's Wife are 6" instead of the 4" blocks of Dear Jane it's slightly easier since you'd be working with bigger pieces. One of the things I love about the Farmer's Wife quilt is that a lot of the blocks can stand alone. It would be really striking to have all of those HSTs repeating throughout an entire quilt.Kymberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17350998921225197377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929720771690474999.post-91627740060535353422014-01-16T23:04:20.864-06:002014-01-16T23:04:20.864-06:00I'm dying to make this block. How do you think it compares with Dear Jane? Do you think they are equal in challenge, or is one more difficult than the other? Maybe as I use it on the more challenging blocks I'll learn to enjoy paper piecing more.Kymberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17350998921225197377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929720771690474999.post-84290680195983534412014-01-12T15:45:33.097-06:002014-01-12T15:45:33.097-06:00I can't imagine making this quilt as my first ...I can't imagine making this quilt as my first ever quilt. There are so many great fabric combinations for this quilt it's hard to think of only doing one.Kymberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17350998921225197377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929720771690474999.post-49895525347867078602014-01-12T06:24:36.064-06:002014-01-12T06:24:36.064-06:00These blocks look great! Enjoy the process or try at least;) :P lol Then again I haven't attempted any of them yet so I can't say too much!Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06247447650956604911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929720771690474999.post-71337753343131720992014-01-10T08:31:39.391-06:002014-01-10T08:31:39.391-06:00It is a test of piecing ability that is for sure. ...It is a test of piecing ability that is for sure. Can you believe this is the first quilt I ever worked on. I took a class. With persistence it came out looking pretty good. I am sure your quilt will be great too. suemachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00274108215277727979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929720771690474999.post-48860591874339389312014-01-10T04:40:15.820-06:002014-01-10T04:40:15.820-06:00Very pretty blocks! When I make this quilt again (yes, I'm nuts enough to make another one) I intend to paper piece a lot of the blocks. This time around I only did about a half dozen with that method.
